Shelley Wade is one of the country’s top Radio Air-Personalities. For the last eight years, she has been on air at Z100 New York, the biggest Top 40/Pop station in the world. She can also be heard on stations nationwide.
With the launch of “The Shelley Wade Treatment,” Shelley now puts a closer focus on one of her favorite aspects of her career, interviewing celebrities. The show touches on all genres of music from Pop, Hip-Hop, and R&B, to Classical, Rock Country and Jazz. “The Shelley Wade Treatment” also promotes entertainers’ upcoming projects from non-profit involvement to album releases. “I always had a complete and consummate love for music. In fact, I grew up wanting to be a Grammy Award-winning singer. So when I interview artists for “The Shelley Wade Treatment, I do it with an insider’s point-of-view since I grew up singing and performing,” says Shelley.
Shelley became interested in radio as a teen while attending her high school’s Magnet Communications program in her hometown of Houston, Texas. After working at her college radio station, Shelley decided to make radio her career and soon went to work at KMJQ Houston, Majic 102–the station she listened to as a child. With this, her first professional radio gig, Shelley worked as a part-time Air-Personality at KMJQ while still in college. After a few months there, she moved across town to work at rival Hip-Hop station KBXX, 97.9 The Box, and soon got her first full-time on-air position as Midday Air-Personality. After six years, Shelley was promoted to KBXX’s morning show, where she served as Co-Host and Entertainment Reporter. In 2001, New York’s Z100 plucked Shelley from Houston and named her Midday Air-Personality. With this move, Shelley not only realized her childhood dream of living in New York City, but she also diversified her resume by moving from Hip-Hop Radio to Pop Radio!
In addition to being a National Radio Personality, Shelley is also a Television Personality and has made national appearances as a music, entertainment and Pop Culture expert on: MSNBC, Access Hollywood, Inside Edition, BBC Liquid News, PIX 11 New York and has been quoted in: Time Magazine, The Associated Press, The New York Daily News, People Magazine, AOL and many other publications.
Shelley has hosted several of New York’s top events, such as New York City’s Revlon Run/Walk’s fight against women’s cancers–with top celebrity co-hosts Meredith Viera, Tiki Barber, New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg, Renee Zellweger, Julianne Moore, Jesse L. Martin, James Gandolfini and Christopher Meloni–as well as the US Open Arthur Ashe Kid’s Day.

This woman of many talents has been honored and named Best Midday Personality in New York City during the A.I.R. Awards. She has received the T.O.R.C.H. Program’s L.I.G.H.T. Award for her work mentoring high school students who aspire to have careers in the Communications field and was featured in Marie Claire Magazine’s “It’s Time To Talk” Campaign against Domestic Violence.
